Integrative Projects
Knowledge doesn't come in tidy packages, to be filed
away under subject headings (see Integrated Curriculum) and beyond our daily
making of connections between the class you're in and the other subjects you
take, we also construct more elaborate, longer-term projects in which these
connections can be experienced and explored.
The most exciting integrated project of last term was
our field studies in Costa Rica. Led by University of Toronto and Dragon mentor
Professor Dan Brooks, Dragon students spent 8 days at the Area de Conservacion
Guanacaste in the northwestern part of the country, exploring the impact of
environmental change, ecological awareness, democratic and responsible
government, and scientific discovery on biodiversity and social
structure.
