| The Dragon Academy is a small community by design. To achieve our goals of cooperation and mutual understanding, we must be close-knit. The primary requirement for a successful student at The Dragon is to be nice and open-minded. We welcome all kinds of diversity at the Dragon. We want our students to be good sports, fair, kind, tolerant, and ready to try new things.
Our curriculum is fast-moving and demanding, and we promote good learning skills, from organization and a good work ethic, to working well with others. Our best students are self-motivated, curious, imaginative and questioning. The bright child who is insufficiently challenged, bored and underachieving finds that The Dragon sparks new interest in and commitment to school.
We do not have a special education stream or program, but we can and have accommodated students with a variety of learning styles, and support individualized learning strategies, from laptop computers to alternative assessment. But all our students have to value and further the atmosphere of trust and camaraderie that is so crucial to our educational project.
